FIU CIBER is thrilled to announce our 3rd Annual K-12 Language for Business Conference that will be held on January 15, 2011 at the Sofitel Hotel in Miami, Florida. Our 3rd Annual Conference will support five track languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese and Arabic. This one day conference is free to all K-12 Foreign Language Teachers, as well as professors from Community Colleges and Universities across the nation.

AFTJ members were recently invited to the Consulate-General of Japan Eiichi Kawahara's house on February 28, 2011 for a meeting to exchange information and opinions to improve Japanese education in Florida.
The annual Southern Japan Seminar (SJS) promotes the research and educational activities of Japan-related scholars in the Southeastern United States. This year’s event will be held in Florida International University’s MMC Campus at the MARC Pavilion on Saturday, March 5, 2010.

Please join us on April 30, 2011 for Japan Culture Day, a day dedicated to promoting Japanese culture through cultural workshops and demonstrations in origami, wearing kimono (traditional Japanese clothing), ikebana (flower arrangement), Iaido, Kendo, Aikido, and much more.
