Asian Studies Program receives the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Grant for Summer 2016

FIU Asian Studies received a NEH grant for a summer institute, titled "Tokyo: High City and Low City: A NEH Summer Institute for College and University Teachers." It is designed to lead participants in an in-depth humanistic exploration of the literary, religious, and philosophical movements that have visibly—and invisibly—contributed to the construction of modern Japan. The UN Special Rapporteur on the right to adequate housing has invited Rayna Rusenko to attend an international expert consultation on homelessness and the right to housing. Rayna will contribute her knowledge on homelessness in Malaysia and elsewhere in Asia during meetings on November 5-6 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
