Asian Studies MA/GSS PhD Student Rayna Rusenko invited to attend United Nations meeting in Argentina

The UN Special Rapporteur on the right to adequate housing has invited Asian Studies MA/Global & Sociocultural Studies doctoral student Rayna Rusenko to attend an international expert consultation on homelessness and the right to housing.

Rayna will contribute her knowledge on homelessness in Malaysia and elsewhere in Asia during meetings on November 5-6 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This consultation focuses on the role of discrimination and social exclusion in homelessness, the need to understand homelessness as a human rights problem requiring rights-based solutions, and links between homelessness and multiple policy fields. The results of the consultation will provide input to a report to the UN Human Rights Council.
