July 2009, Dr. Heine met with Ishii Seijun Sensei, the new President of Komazawa University. 

Both Dr. Heine and Ishii Sensei specialize in the life and works of Dôgen (1200-1253), the founder of Sôtô Zen in Japan, and they are collaborating on a new scholarly book about Dôgen’s teaching.
