PLEASE NOTE: The following is a complete list of courses that can be used towards an Asian Studies program. Due to space and scheduling availability not all courses can be offered at any given time, therefore this list is to be used as a guide and is based on the online Course Catalog. Because Asian Studies is an interdisciplinary program, it is possible to have credit from a course not listed below counted toward an Asian Studies degree/certificate with prior approval from the Asian Studies Office.

Undergraduate Courses

Capstone Courses: Asian Studies Majors are required to take ONE of the following courses to fulfill the major requirements.

ASN 4510 Dynamics of Asia - This course can be taken a second time as a repeat course or counted for cultural credit if ASN 4390 is used to fulfill the capstone.

ASN 4390 Modern Asia

Asian Studies Independent Research and Internships: These courses can be counted for credit towards either the cultural or the international political economy tracks. Please see Independent Research and Internships under Academic Programs and consult with an Asian Studies advisor prior to enrolling in the following courses.

Asian Language Courses: Asian Studies Majors with the Asian Cultural Studies Concentration and the International Political Economy Concentration are required to take 12 credits. The East Asian Studies Concentration requires 18 credits. The Asian World Affairs Concentration requires 6 credits.
