Dr. Laura Nenzi (Associate Professor of History, University of Tennessee) will be giving a lecture at FIU in GC287B on Friday, October 11, 2013, titled "Edo Townspeople's Culture: Whose Space is it, Anyway?"
Dr. Laura Nenzi's research interests include social & cultural history of Early Modern Japan. She completed her PhD at the University of California Santa Barbara, and worked previously at FIU as Assistant Professor of History until 2009. She has published a book titled Excursions in Identity: Travel and the Intersection of Place, Gender, and Status in Edo Japan (Honolulu: University of Hawai’i Press, 2008) and several articles on Early Modern Japanese history.
