Xu Bing Comes to the Frost Art Museum in Exhibition Curated by Dr. Lidu Yi
World acclaimed contemporary Chinese artist Xu Bing will open his exhibition Writing Between Heaven and Earth at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum on Saturday, February 21st. Asian Studies Program receives the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Grant for Summer 2016
FIU Asian Studies received a NEH grant for a summer institute, titled "Tokyo: High City and Low City: A NEH Summer Institute for College and University Teachers." It is designed to lead participants in an in-depth humanistic exploration of the literary, religious, and philosophical movements that have visibly—and invisibly—contributed to the construction of modern Japan. Asian Studies MA/GSS PhD Student Rayna Rusenko invited to attend United Nations meeting in Argentina
The UN Special Rapporteur on the right to adequate housing has invited Rayna Rusenko to attend an international expert consultation on homelessness and the right to housing. Rayna will contribute her knowledge on homelessness in Malaysia and elsewhere in Asia during meetings on November 5-6 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Today's 1st Annual FIU Language Day
Today we had a table in the Green Library Breezeway at the 1st Annual FIU Language Day Event. There was so many clubs and events out there today making the event exciting to be apart of. Free food, Tai Chi, Floor Calligraphy, music and so much more. Thank you to all those who visited our table to learn about our programs. We look forward to next year's event. On Monday, December 14, 2015, the Association of Florida Teachers of Japanese (AFT J) presented the 15th annual "Japan Immersion Day": It was a great day to enjoy Japanese culture, meet other Japanese students, learn more about Japan, and have fun!
