Daylene Arias Alonso
Daylene Arias Alonso is an Adjunct Instructor in the Asian Studies Program, specializing in modern Japanese culture. Her research focuses on Japanese fashion and subcultures, the anthropology and sociology of contemporary Asia, and the role of pop culture in shaping identity and community. She completed her M.A. with a thesis on Japanese street style and its global influence. Professor Arias Alonso currently teaches Cultural Approaches to Japanese Video Games and is passionate about innovative, accessible online learning. She brings an interdisciplinary and student-centered approach to the classroom, encouraging learners to explore Asia through culture, creativity, and critical inquiry.
