We are offering a new Study Abroad Program in Japan during Summer A (May 4-31, 2027) led by Dr. Marcela López Bravo.
In this 4-weeks program history, design, and business intersect to trace Japan’s evolution from the feudal Edo period to a post-industrial superpower. Explore and bike through breathtaking islands and cities to learn how structural resilience and historical preservation blend nature with cutting-edge engineering. Decode corporate longevity and regional revitalization strategies that help centuries-old businesses thrive. Best of all: hands-on culture from tea ceremony to taiko. This summer study abroad program, Intensive Language and Culture in Kyoto at Ritsumeikan University, concluded successfully. Participants had valuable opportunities to use Japanese with native speakers and immerse themselves in authentic cultural experiences. As a result, their language skills improved significantly, and many developed lasting friendships with Japanese students.
